Apple quietly updates MacPro

The official specification on the new systems are:

Two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series “Clovertown” processors, 8MB of L2 cache per processor (16MB total; each pair of cores shares 4MB), 128-bit SSE3 vector engine, 64-bit data paths and registers, Energy efficiency optimization, 1.33GHz, 64-bit dual independent frontside buses.

iTunes, iPods updated

Apple, today, updated iTunes and released the update as a free download. It's available here. iTunes 7 overview

Apple also released updates to the entire family of iPods. Now available in sizes ranging from the new 1 GB clip-on iPod shuffle through the coloured iPod nanos and up to the largest capacity iPod yet at 80 GBs!!!

Mac minis updated

The Mac mini was also updated today.

The entry level Mac mini now sports a Core duo chip, up from the Core solo found in the previous model. This model also jumps from 1.5 to 1.66 GHz.

In addition, the top of the line Mac mini jumps from 1.66 to 1.83 GHz.

Power and simplicity in an elegant compact design. What more could you ask for in a home computer?

iMacs updated. New 24" iMac joins the family

Apple announced today that the iMac family is both getting faster and growing. All iMacs now run on the Intel Core 2 Duo chips providing increased performance and efficiency.

In addition, Apple announced a new member of the family — the iMac 24". Big, wide screen with a brilliant image at 1920x1200 resolution: great for editing and viewing your home videos or watching your favourite DVDs.

Of course all models include a built in iSight camera, iLife '06
